Haddington Juniors Welcome Jonathon Edwards

The Juniors were immensely fortunate to host a visit to Meadowmill, yesterday evening, by Jonathon Edwards.

Jonathon is widely regarded as the greatest triple-jumper in history, and is an Olympic, double World, European, European indoor and Commonwealth champion; he has held the world record in the event since 1995.

He spent an hour and a half at the track meeting our coaches, chatting with the youngsters, watching their jumps and giving words of encouragement. He kindly agreed to do a Q&A session and answered a huge range of questions including ones about the sports he was involved in when he was younger, what kept him going if he experienced disappointment and what it felt like to break a world record. Truly an inspiration, a huge thank you to Jonathon for agreeing to visit.
